How To Be Confident | For Elyse
Being confident is easier said than done right? Being women, makes life difficult in that aspect. Sometimes we feel small, unimportant, and unappreciated even though we try and give so much. Even though we are a clothing store, we still believe in equality, and women's rights. We have the right to speak our minds, as well as hold our self to high standards!
On the blog today, I have 5 tips for you to become a more confident woman. First, smile, and tell yourself that you are beautiful :-). You are beautiful.
1. Be silly!
Don't take yourself too seriously! You have to remember that you are your own individual. You are unique, and if people around you do not like who you are, then that is their problem! I survive daily by being silly, weird and goofy. It has such a positive affect on other's around you, that people are drawn to you. Once people are drawn to you, it is easier to make friends, therefore creating an incredible support system for you! It's kind of like a food chain... Without the food.
2. Love yourself!
I know, we've all heard the saying, you cannot truly love until you love yourself. But this is a true statement! Don't forget that you are the most important one to take care of. If you are happy, then your future relationships will be amazing. Whether it is with a guy, or with your family and friends, loving yourself is the first step in becoming confident.
3. Eat Well!
It is the 21st century, and social media is sky rocketing. Marketing campaigns of fast food, with skinny girls eating a huge hamburger, to commercials with women who look 50 years younger than they really are due to photoshop and video editing software. Do not strive to look like anyone. Be unique as I mentioned before, and take care of yourself! Whether it is eating healthier, or exercising a minute longer than you usually do, take time for yourself. Meditate, eat a bowl of carrots, or do something that will make your insides happy! It will eventually show on your face, as well as on the scale, which will ultimately make you more confident :-). I am definitely not saying that losing weight will make you happier. If you are happy with the way you look, but would love to feel healthier on the inside, then take my advice, and eat well!
4. Dress up!
As a girly girl myself, I know that when I put lip gloss on, or some blush on, I feel extremely confident, especially in a public setting. Some girls do not like wearing makeup, but feel good in certain clothing! Whatever makes you feel good, whether it is wearing a full face of makeup, or wearing wedges that make you feel tall, embrace it and do that for yourself a couple times a month! Grab sushi with a girlfriend, or go out on the town with your significant other! Enjoy life!
5. Have YOU days.
This kind of goes hand in hand with the other points I've talked about in this blog post. But it is SO crucial to have you time. Whether that is going for a walk, reading a book on your porch, exercising, or getting a pedi mani, do it. Don't feel guilty about the money being spent on yourself, because I guarantee you, after you walk out of that nail salon, or after you get done with your half an hour swim, you will feel amazing.
The moral of the confident story, is that you CAN be confident. Even if you're not completely happy with yourself yet, trust me, you will get there in due time!
