Clear Skin For The Summer | For Elyse

As we get older, our skin tends to loosen, and lose it's elasticity! When we are babies, we are never exposed to the sun. The sun does a lot of damage to your skin. Your face, and body! Then we go into hormones, and stress. That's a story in itself right? Acne, scarring, hyper pigmentation... Why us?! We're human, that's why! 

On the blog today I am going to be talking about 5 ways to achieve clear, wrinkle free skin as you age. I am no expert, but I find that utilizing these tricks, have definitely helped my skin's journey to become clear!

1. Eat Well!

This is SO important. You know that delicious cheese pizza and nachos you enjoy eating? Don't! For your health, and for your skin. Dairy, especially nowadays, has so many different hormones in it that affects your skin in a negative way. Dairy involves unsaturated fats that creates zits for some people. This can even create cystic acne, which are the pimples that hurt underneath the skin! Yuck and ouch! Stick to vegetables, lean meat, and lots of fruit for the best results! The fruit I recommend are berries and bananas! Berries are full of antioxidants, and bananas have a lot of potassium. Potassium will make your body become stronger which enables you to have more energy, and that equals to better looking skin!

2. Sleep!

How many hours of sleep do you get a night? 4 hours, 6 hours? You need at least 8 hours to maintain a healthy lifestyle! That means, no caffeine after 1:00PM, exercise in the morning, and eat before seven! Wondering why you have black circles under your eyes, and wrinkles that age you? Trust me, I totally understand the busy schedules, but if you plan ahead, you will be just fine! 

3. Easy Up On The Coffee!

Yes, coffee beans are good for you, but only one cup, and without the creamer & dairy! This goes hand in hand with the "Eat well" advice, because too much of anything with unsaturated fat is simply not good for your skin! I wanted to add this as a tip because having one cup in the morning before your workout, or before your work day, will be much more beneficial to your health, therefore more beneficial for your skin!

4. Drink Lots Of Water!

Water is the key ingredient to glowing, wrinkle free skin! Hydrating yourself, will show throughout to your outer appearance! Since our skin is made up of 64% of water, we definitely need to keep up with hydrating ourselves! Our skin needs to eat just like we do... That might sound weird, but it is so true! It also helps with inflammation, which usually occurs after a long nights rest! Once you are properly hydrated, the kidneys take over and solves the problems of wrinkles, or tired looking skin!


5. Wash Your Face!

This is pretty much a no brainer, but this tip is to, actually wash your face and treat it like you want it to look! Even if you have hormonal acne, washing it and using treatments can reduce puffiness, and result in smoother looking skin! If you have pretty bad acne, I suggest using a face wash with Salycilic Acid and a moisturizer with SPF in it!

The moral of this blog post is, take care of yourself! It all begins with the inside out!
